Welcome to ROBIGS, the ROSEN Bilingual GrundSchule. We are delighted that you are interested in our elementary school and would like to give you an overview and introduce our educational institution.

We are here for you and want to go on a journey of discovery together: Our international team is available to answer any questions you may have about our bilingual elementary school, our educational concept, and the everyday school life of our older students.

Childcare at ROBIGS

ROBIGS is an all-day school that follows the prescribed curriculum of the state of Lower Saxony. In the morning, knowledge is imparted in “team teaching,” with two teachers per class. In the afternoon, the ROBIGS, our “big kids,” explore the world to understand what interests them and make new discoveries together. The identities and cultures of all children are respected and strengthened.

With our extended opening hours, we also support the compatibility of work and family life: homework is already done when the students come home. At the end of a project, the children present the results of their work on the respective topic to their parents.

Concept

Media literacy

ROBIGS students learn how to use media and information technology responsibly. Every student has access to a tablet computer for active, individual learning. Our classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards where students can view and discuss their work together.

Self-discovery learning

Self-discovery learning awakens the “great explorers” in our students. Our discovery program builds on natural curiosity and offers experiences that are closely related to the children's everyday lives. ROBIGS learn to work on tasks as a team and present their findings. In the process, they find their own creative and interdisciplinary approaches to the topics.

Workshop and project-based learning

The subjects of music, art, D.T, textiles, p.e, science and religion is organized as a subject-transcending workshop or project lesson in so-called epochs. The subjects holistically observe a common topic from various aspects. The close link with the self-discovery lessons thus allows the lasting consolidation of content.

Bilingual learning

At ROBIGS, the target language is learned using the immersion method. As in the ROKIDS daycare center, children at ROBIGS experience true bilingualism as a “language immersion.” For many, English is their native language or the language of instruction. This results in two groups of students: native German speakers with English as their target language and native English speakers with German as their target language.

Mixed-age groups

At ROBIGS, children aged six to ten learn together in a class family. Our goal is to enable each student to learn independently in accordance with their individual abilities, strengths, and weaknesses. In mixed-age class families, children learn with and from each other, as they see their peers as role models for their own development.

German, English, Mathematics

German, English, and mathematics lessons are tailored to individual needs and structured using partial work plans and weekly schedules. In addition, we decide individually for each child when the right time is to start learning the second language in writing. All skills are acquired at the student's own pace and at the appropriate level. In addition, interdisciplinary tasks link the teaching content together.

Transition to elementary school

The pupils of the ROSEN bilingual grade school learn together with children of the company daycare centre ROKIDs, in one building, thus taking into consideration the vertical perspective of their learning biography. The successful transition from Kindergarten to grade school is ensured by many joint activities in a loving environment, together with the substantial learning objectives.

Personal development

Our goal is to strengthen each individual schoolchild throughout their entire primary school education. Within the framework of individual lessons, children acquire skills and self-confidence that they can contribute to the team. This strengthens their social skills and self-awareness.

How did the “ROBIGS” initiative and the founding of our bilingual elementary school come about?

The ROSEN Group is an international company with over 44 different nationalities at its German locations. An increasing number of the current workforce of over 1,250 employees come from all over the world to work and live here for a certain period of time. German-speaking specialists are also sent to the ROSEN Group's locations worldwide. The children of these internationally active employees are particularly dependent on bilingual education.

Many internationally active parents face the challenge of integrating their children into a different language, especially if their previous language of instruction was not German. That is why our ROKIDS daycare center and ROBIGS elementary school follow the principle of “true bilingualism” in German and English. They enable a continuous educational biography from nursery school to the end of elementary school.

Registration

ROSEN Bilingual Elementary School welcomes all children, regardless of their background. This means that not only children of ROSEN Group employees can be registered, but all children.

For those who have submitted an application form, we offer an information event every spring regarding enrollment in the following calendar year. Here you will have the opportunity to learn about our school concept, tour the premises, and ask individual questions.

Admission

The admission cycle generally runs parallel to the school years at all schools in Lower Saxony. In individual cases, admission is also possible during the current school year. Please contact us for more information.

About ROBIGS

ROBIGS is the ROSEN bilingual primary school, a non-profit alternative school independently run by the ROSEN Group in Lingen (Ems), Germany. ROBIGS is a state-approved, compulsory full-day school that follows the curriculum guidelines of the state of Lower Saxony. Through its focus on bilingual education with an emphasis on science and technology, a special educational concept is implemented that places the self-determined child at the center. ROBIGS is affiliated with ROCARE GmbH, which is owned by the ROSEN Group in Lingen (Ems), Germany. All information about ROCARE GmbH can be found at www.rocare.de.

Opening hours

School Lessons

ROBIGS offers full-time lessons from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The educational work is interrupted by a breakfast break from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and a lunch break from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. From 1:30 to 2 p.m., ROBIGS students have the opportunity to withdraw for individual work. This allows for a suitable rhythm with alternating periods of concentration and relaxation in accordance with the biorhythm.

School Child Care

We offer childcare from 6:45 a.m. to 8 a.m. and after school until 5:15 p.m. It is also possible to register your children for reliable childcare during the Lower Saxony school holidays.

Holidays

The holiday schedule at ROSEN Bilingual Elementary School is based on the guidelines of the state of Lower Saxony and is therefore identical to that of state schools.

Holiday Care

We offer holiday care for primary school children during the Lower Saxony Easter, summer, and fall holidays. ROBIGS is open during the holidays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Additional care is also available from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.
